August 2022 Treatbox UK Reveal and Review

Hello August!

Are you having a good start to the month?

The sun is shining and it’s the summer holiday in my house!

Time to unbox the August 2022 Treatbox UK with me!

If you would prefer to watch the video please head to my Instagram or Facebook page.

So what did the August box offer us for this month of treats?

Treatbox Original Calendar Print
Treatbox Original Colour Me In Pages x 2 A4
Treatbox Original Item – Bound Recipe Journal Notebook
Oh K! Anti-Blue Light Sheet Masks x 2 with Ginger and Antioxidants
Gardners Cookie / Biscuit – “Tea + Biscuit Club” Quote – Vegan
Treatbox Original Item – Enamel Pin Badge “Star Baker”
Treatbox Original Item – Drinks Coaster “Time for Me”
Miss Patisserie “Happy” Essential Oils Shower Steamer Block

Here are some more photographs!

What is my Honest Opinion on the items in this August box?

We have some of the usual items in this box which include (of course) the Calendar Print and a biscuit which are regular in Treatbox and are very nice. I also see there is a Mask again this month but it’s actually two separate masks which is slightly better value as we can do two this month, or invite a friend around for a pampering session!

The Treatbox original products are unique and are really in keeping with the baking theme this month, which include the Drinks Coaster and the Recipe Journal. As someone who does a lot of cooking that is really handy! The Star Baker Pin is very fun and I have a friend that this is perfect for, I will be gifting this to her because she bakes far more and far better than I do! Ha!

The set of two colouring sheets are fun and are back this month. I always find Adult Colouring to be calming for me. Check out my social media for updates on these as I fill them in as the weeks progress…

What do we have left to talk about? Well if you watched my unboxing video on August 2nd you will know that I started having an allergic reaction to the Shower Steamer block during my recording, orange is something I became allergic to a couple of years ago and I could no longer eat or drink this without feeling poorly. When I smelt the shower block my nose instantly started to run and my eyes started to itch. Sadly I had to wrap this product up in the Treatbox plastic packaging as soon as I hit the stop button. I quickly photographed it later that day, before wrapping it again and giving it to my mother so that it was removed entirely from my house. Such a shame because I liked how the product sounded in principal! I hope my mother enjoys it!

So what are the best items this month? I really think the quality of the Treatbox UK original products are excellent and they are items that can be continually used and enjoyed and are also useful. The coaster will brighten your day, the journal is ready for whenever recipe inspiration strikes, and the rest of the items can be enjoyed over the course of the next four weeks. Keep checking my social media for individual item reviews. I will let you know how I get on with the mask!

Thank you very much for joining in for another Reveal and Review from Severn Sabrina!

Wishing you a great August month! Don’t forget to follow me on social media for more updates and individual product reviews too.

February 2022 Treatbox Reveal and Review

Hello! Welcome to my Reveal and Review of the Treatbox UK February 2022 box!

As we all know the month of February is significant for Valentine’s Day, so I was expecting there to be a love or at least a heart theme this box. Zoe strives to make her Treatboxes about self care, self love and being kind to ourselves, so I feel this box might be poignant in that way too.

Shall we see what is inside?

What was inside the box?

As I open the box my eyes are met with a dark pink tissue paper, a chocolate heart has made its way out of the paper (cheeky!) during transit! The sticker reads “sealed with a hug” Aw thanks! And the February Calendar Print sits on top…

Treatbox February 2022 Calendar Print
Treatbox Original Tote Bag “Self Love Club”
Treatbox Original Keyring “Love Myself”
Bottle of bubble t Body Lotion in Peach
Heart Chocolate
Pair of Heart Socks
Treatbox Original Stickers Sheet
Treatbox Inspirational Card “Love Yourself Instead of…”
“You Are Limited Edition” Heart Biscuit

My Honest Opinion of the February 2022 box

I adore getting these socks! I never get tired of a new design because the quality is excellent, they wash and wear very well, and of course it would be hearts this month. A tasty delightful little chocolate and the heart shaped biscuit make up our edible treats this month, tasty!
I’m a big believer in less plastic and more reusable items so to see a tote bag this month is excellent.
A sweet key ring and a card that we can either choose to keep or to send on is a lovely gesture.
We of course have the calendar print which is useful, I have started to pin mine to my fridge door and write my evening meal plans on it.
Finally we have the original Treatbox sticker sheet which is super fun! And the bubble t body lotion which smells really nice.
I look forward to using or eating all of these fab items! Keep an eye on my Instagram to see regular Treatbox products in use!

Thank you for reading this Reveal post today, I hope you have enjoyed seeing what was inside.

Please pop by in early March to see the next Reveal and Review I do of Treatbox UK!

Have a lovely month and I hope I see you back here again soon.

My Thoughts on the December Box

What a fantastic box! I really loved the contents of this month, from the wooden decorations to the organisation notepad and the fabulous TreatboxUK original wrapping paper! You can tell a lot of thought went into the preparation of this month’s box.
The self care card was also pretty cool, although I kept forgetting to scratch it off and then would do two in the same day! Oops!

Overall I feel like this is a strong box, even those who don’t love this time of year would find it hard not to like the contents. Who doesn’t love a beautiful wooden snowflake or a tasty biscuit treat? I know I do!
My favourite items are the decorations and the coaster. The quality of every single item in the box this month has been excellent. A great way to end the year of boxes and end TreatboxUK 2021 boxes on a high! I loved photographing this box and couldn’t decide which pictures to include in my Reveal so I chose them all! Enjoy! Have a great Christmas!

May 2021 Treatbox Reveal and Review

It’s time to Reveal the May 2021 TreatboxUK box!

I saw the sticker said “Bee Happy” and wondered if that was a clue!

Inside the May box was… “Bee Kind to Yourself” Themed Products ✩

The May 2021 Calendar Print / What’s Inside May Treatbox Information

Treatbox Original Print “Sunshine and Happy Days”

Treatbox Original Bag “You’re So Golden”

Treatbox Packet of Sunflower Seeds “no rain, no flowers”

Yummy Comb – Honeycomb Bar Smothered in Sea Salted Caramel Belgian Milk Chocolate

our tiny bees – Mini Floral Hand Balm 21ml Ylang Ylang and Lemon

by Jessica Alice – English Pear & Freesia – Wax Melt – Hand Poured & Vegan

Treatbox Original Positivity / Self Care/ Wellness Cards – 10 Designs

It’s World Bee Day on the 20th of May!!!

✩ My Opinion of the May Box Contents

What I really liked this time around were the themed products and how most of them were handbag size. Most were Vegan and Cruelty Free as well. I am looking forward to enjoying the honeycomb chocolate on a day that my son is away (as it contains dairy and he has allergies). And the Wax Melts smell lovely! They are currently making my lounge smell beautiful without even the need to melt them, it smells so strong through the packaging and such a Spring like scent!

The bag is so cool! Cannot believe you’re now doing things like this in house at Treatbox HQ! They look amazing! The hand cream is lovely and smells nice.

Love the Bee theme! The Print and the Cards are all lovely and very well appreciated during this difficult time. It’s nice to get little reminders to look after yourself. As a single mum some days I might not get another adult conversation and I am often busy and tired. Treatbox is a little pick me up which contains even more little bits and bobs to remind me that “I’m Amazing” – so thanks Treatbox!

October 2020 Treatbox Reveal and Review

Welcome one and all to the
October 2020 Treatbox Reveal and Review!

As soon as I opened the box to find an Autumnal range of colours and the beautiful print I was excited about what other delights I would find inside.

SO WHAT IS INSIDE THE OCTOBER BOX?

An awesome A5 Autumn Print
“Leaves are Falling, Autumn is Calling”

Joe Cool Hedgehog Socks (So Cute!)

KoKo Rose Wax Melts

Whittard Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

Joe & Seph’s Double Chocolate Gourmet Popcorn

Weekly Planner Notepad

Mallow & Marsh Salted Caramel Marshmallow Bar

My Thoughts On The October 2020 Box

I really like theme of delicious treats inside this month’s box. A really nice original print for us all to display this month too. Along with lots of yummy treats to enjoy on the colder nights. Lots of autumn flavours included in them as well.

I adore the socks, love, love, love them! Hedgehogs are adorable! The weekly planner is also a very handy item. I am coming to the end of one of the notepads from a Treatbox from last year, so this one will soon take its place on my desk. Perfect timing!

The wax melts will be gifted to a friend who has the means to use them. I was a tiny bit disappointed about the best before date on the Mallow Bar, but as it is “at its best before” the 5th October, it should still be okay to consume within the next few days. Luckily all the other items have great sell by dates so no need to rush into enjoying them all.

This box was a lovely pick me up box that was much needed for me this month.

September 2020 Treatbox Reveal and Review

Welcome one and all to the
September Treatbox Reveal and Review!

My apologies for this post being so late in the month, there was a mix up with my box so I have only just received it! But what a fabulous box of treats it is!

Read on to find out exactly what! With pictures too!

SO WHAT IS INSIDE THE SEPTEMBER BOX?

An awesome and very cute Calendar Print (Yay!)

A beautiful Scarf, blush Pink with patterns of Hearts or Chevrons (Picked at Random) (It’s so soft!)

Daily Concepts Daily Lip Scrubber

Tray Bakes Honeycomb Crunch Bar (Mmm!)

the Little Coffee Bag Co. Black or White Coffee Bag

Treatbox Unique Key Ring with Inspirational Quotes

Paper Bag of Treatbox Special Daily Affirmation Cards

What Do I Love Most In This Box?

I cannot express how happy I was to see the Calendar Print! I love it too being a Cat related image! It has gone straight on to my Fridge. I do hope this will be a regular occurrence again! If so, then fab!

I adore the scarf it is both pretty and soft, and the pattern is versatile enough to go with anything in my wardrobe.

The Lip Scrubber is really useful and a very handy product considering we are now entering into Autumn and Winter. A good idea to have in your bathroom in case of dry lips!

I haven’t eaten the Treat Bar yet, but it sounds delicious! And I have gifted the Coffee Bag to my Mother who adores her Coffee, I am not fond of it in all honesty. I’m sure she will enjoy it!

The Affirmation Cards are wonderful! Just when you need a pick me up they are right there. Wonderful quaint designs and they say all the right things. I have popped two of them on my fridge along with my calendar, because as someone who is currently working through a low self esteem, it’s really nice to have reminders such as, “I am enough” and “I am strong” etc.

I love the pink theme this month, to be honest the whole box is well thought out. I am also ecstatic because there isn’t a face or eye mask in sight! Hurrah! *Dances* I really hope this is a good move and a turning point, because if it is then I am happy to continue my subscription. I want (as I’m sure many of you do) a Treat to eat or drink, something to cherish or wear, something to do and enjoy and something to inspire. The calendar print I would love to see return, as I would also love to see A5 prints perhaps. I have a few of the A4 ones from the last 3 years of boxes framed around my home and I still adore them.

I am very much looking forward to my October box now, I hope it is full of inspiring things and perhaps an Autumnal theme…

August 2020 Treatbox Reveal

Hello and Welcome to the Reveal and Review of the August 2020 Treatbox with me, Sabrina.

Inside the box you have a Large A4 Print and there are 6 items inside.

A4 Print – Yellow and Floral “Life is Tough But so are You”
The Natural Choice – Cosmetics Bag “You Got This”
Bubble T – Bath and Shower Gel “Vanilla Chai Tea” Scent
Vitamasques K-Beauty Citrine Sheet Mask with Therapy aspects
Willies Cacao – Venezuelan El Blanco – Raspberries and Cream – White Chocolate Treats 50g
Twinings Cold Infuse Sugar Free Tea for Water Bottles 1 x Watermelon, Strawberry and Mint and 1 x Passionfruit, Mango and Blood Orange Flavour.

My Thoughts on this Box

I had never tired the Cold Infused Twinings before so it was a nice treat to try something new. I was a little disappointed with another face mask, though I understand some people would use one a week at least, so I am going to try and do the same from now on and do more self care. I have a small box full of all the ones I have had from subscriptions boxes such as this one, they are mostly from Treatbox to be fair. Another cosmetics bag too? That is not good as we have received several small bags this last 12 boxes.

Don’t get me wrong, I really liked some of the items inside this month’s box, they were different (yay) and the print was also beautiful and has a nice summer inspired design. A few items were ideal in regarding how I was feeling emotionally this month. Even the sticker at the start reading “Keep Going” is a reminder of not to give up. I have a difficult time ahead of me and receiving this box every month would usually be a pick me up that was well needed. Lately I haven’t felt the same about the boxes, although this August box has given me a bit more positivity towards them, I honestly think that September might be my final box. I have to make that decision in the coming weeks based on the upcoming contents.

“Keep Going”

Sweet Treats Week – Day 5 – Sabrina’s Customisable Cookies

Welcome to Sweet Treats Week on Severn Wishes. This half term I wanted to share my top 5 baking treats with you all, hopefully you’ve got some time this week to make them with me! I cannot believe this is Day 5 already! I hope you’ve had as much fun baking these as I have!

Check out my Instagram and Facebook page for more food pictures, videos and future recipe ideas too!

Day 5 is Sabrina’s Customisable Cookies!

And the great thing with these is that you can literally add anything into them… I like mine to have chocolate chips. But you could put tiny marshmallows in them or different kinds of chocolate confectionery. Just follow my basic recipe and then add in whatever you feel like! This is a great one to get the children involved in too and perhaps they could each make two or three cookies just for them!

My recipe will make between 12 and 16 cookies with a prep time of 20 minutes and a fridge time of 3 hours. When you bake they take as little as 15 minutes and only a five minute cool time, so before you know it you could have cookies to enjoy as a mid afternoon snack today!

What You Will Need

A Flat Oven Tray or two
Baking Paper or Parchment
A Large Mixing Bowl for the main mixture
Small Mixing Bowls if your children are doing their own
A Wooden Spoon
A Tablespoon or Ice Cream Scoop
A Sieve
A Cooling Rack
Something To Store The Cookies In After They Are Cooled

Ingredients to make the Cookies

100g Light Brown Sugar
75g Caster Sugar
100g Butter / Dairy Free Spread (Melted)
1 Teaspoon of Salt
1 Egg
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
220g Plain Flour

Additional Ingredients

100g of Chocolate Chips

You can use other colourful confectionery like Smarties, M&Ms, Chocolate Chips of different sorts or even chop up your favourite chocolate bars and use those. (Get an adult to do this chopping up). You can use as much or as little as you want.

Step 1. Mixing Sugar and Butter and Salt

Method Steps

1. In a Large Bowl start by mixing the melted butter with the sugar and salt. You should have a thick brown liquid when it’s mixed enough.

2. Next you need to add the egg and once again mix thoroughly.

3. Make sure you sieve the flour and baking powder into the mixture and stir gently to combine as you do so. Once it’s all mixed in you can add your chocolate chips. If you’re doing different cookies you can now transfer some of the mix into smaller bowls and add the various confectionery. If your mixture is looking dry add one tablespoon of water at a time until it becomes more like cookie dough.

4. Place cling film over each bowl you have and let them cool in the refrigerator for up to 3 hours. TOP TIP While you wait you could play a game!

5. Then coming up to the end of the 3rd hour you can preheat your oven to 180’c and place some baking parchment onto a flat tray ready for your cookies.

6. In order to make your cookies the same size either use a tablespoon or an ice cream scoop to get a measurement out of the bowl. You want to make heaped almost ball shape but press them lightly to the baking paper. TOP TIP Leave at least 4 cm between each cookie! You may need 2 trays!

7. Bake the cookies but stay close by and keep an eye on them! I always have to rotate my tray half way! They will take between 12 and 15 minutes in a fan assisted oven, and you need to let them cool on a rack before you tuck in!

Step 6. Ready to Bake

TOP COOKIE TIPS

Don’t over handle your cookie dough!
Mix in your chosen confectionery into the dough but don’t over mix it.
When laying the cookies on the tray leave them heaped, they will flatten on their own.
Bake your cookies straight from the fridge for best results.
Keep an eye on them so they don’t over bake, it’s a fine line!

Cookies Freshly Baked and Cooling Down on the Rack

Sweet Treats Week – Day 4 – Sabrina’s Loaf Tin Cake

Lemon Loaf Cake

Welcome to Sweet Treats Week on Severn Wishes. This half term I wanted to share my top 5 baking treats with you all, hopefully you’ve got some time this week to make them with me! Check out my Instagram for more food pictures, videos and recipe ideas too!

Chocolate and Banana Loaf Cake

Day 4 is Sabrina’s Loaf Tin Cake

I know some people aren’t fond of eating loads of chocolate things so I figured I’d have to put my next favourite baking combination out there, which is Loaf Tin Cake! This can be my favourite cake which is a Lemon Drizzle cake! Or we can do a Banana and Chocolate Chip flavour!

I make this delightful and refreshing cake in a loaf tin because it’s easier to cook it, easier to cut it and easier to store it too! You have lots of options to customise your own cake too! I will be giving you two versions, Lemon or Banana and Chocolate, you can choose which to try or even do both!

When baking you’re looking for a gorgeous golden colour on top!

A loaf tin cake is much easier to judge than a round cake, I think!

It’s also easier to store, cut it into slices and it’s ready whenever you want a piece! One tin gives you around 8 slices! This cake keeps best for up to 3 days, but because there aren’t many slices it’s usually enjoyed during a day or two when it is at it’s best. TOP TIP Store this cake in a cake tin with a piece of kitchen roll underneath the baking parchment to help absorb any moisture.

Fresh Out Of The Oven

What You Will Need

A Loaf Tin
Baking Paper or Parchment
A Large Mixing Bowl
A Small Mixing Bowl
A Wooden Spoon
A Tablespoon
A Sieve
A Knife
A Whisk (Manual or Mechanical)
Something To Store The Slices In After They Are Cooled

Lemon Drizzle Cake
Banana and Chocolate Chip Cake

Author: Severn Sabrina
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cook Time: 25 Minutes
Serves: 6 people per loaf made
Allergens: Wheat Flour, Dairy, Egg and Soya (unless you use my alternatives listed below)

Ingredients To Make Any of Sabrina’s Loaf Cake Recipes

1 Free Range Egg (Fresh is best for baking)
125g Butter (or Dairy Free Spread) Melt in the Microwave
100g White Caster Sugar
50g Golden Caster Sugar
190g Self Raising Flour
1 Tablespoon of Vanilla Essence
1 Tablespoons of Milk or a Milk Alternative

Additionals to Flavour the Cake

Lemon Drizzle Cake
For the Cake: 30ml of Lemon Juice
For the Drizzle: 30g Icing Sugar, Lemon Juice, Lemon Rind (Optional)
In a small bowl Mix Lemon Juice one Spoonful at a time to Icing Sugar, how much you want to make depends on your personal preference.
Pour this over your cake when it’s baked.
Add the Lemon Juice at Step Number 2.
Add the Drizzle only when the Cake has cooled but still on its parchment.

Banana and Chocolate Chip Cake
For the Cake: 1 Banana – The Softer the Better! Mushed Up!
50g Chocolate Chips (I use Dark and Dairy Free)
25g Chocolate to Melt and Pour on Top of the Cooled Cake (Optional)
Add the Mushed Up Banana and Chocolate Chips at Step Number 2.

Method Steps

1. In a Large Bowl mix the egg and sugars together with a wooden spoon until smooth. Then add the milk and vanilla. Add the melted butter which has cooled and combine all these ingredients together using a whisk.

2. Now is the time to add your additional filling, use your small bowl to measure out anything you want, then transfer it to the large bowl and mix in.

3. Next you need to sieve the self raising flour into the bowl, do this a little at a time, stirring it together constantly mixing until the mixture is smooth.

4. Make sure you cut a piece of parchment to the correct size for your tin, it needs to stick out above the sides to allow the cake to rise and not spill over.

5. Bake this Cake at 160’c or 150’c (Fan) for 30 – 35 minutes. Check the cake at 25 minutes with a knife or skewer and then check it again at 30 minutes. The knife should come out clean and the top of the cake should be golden like my image below.

6. Once baked remove the cake from the tin by lifting it out using the parchment, and leave it to stand on a flat surface to cool down. Once cooled you can either add the additional options as outlined above or cut it and serve.

Chocolate Chip Loaf Cake
