July 2018 Treatbox Reveal

Hello and Welcome to the July 2018 Treatbox Reveal
with Sabrina of Severn Wishes Blog.

Happy Treat Box Day Everyone! I have been looking forward to this box, it’s arrival comes just before my baby is due! So I was hopeful I would still be bringing you this unboxing as a full reveal. And you’re in luck!

This month the theme is an “Ooo La La” – French Themed!

Bonne Treatbox journée!

As I open pale yellow coloured tissue paper with a sticker that reads “Bonjour” I am already excited, because Paris is one of my favourite places on Earth!

Here are all of the items in the July 2018 Treatbox. (Remember they can vary slightly!).

This month there are 7 items in the Treatbox plus a Calendar Print and an A4 Print.

Calendar Print for July 2018 – Bonjour with Hearts
2 Treatbox Badges – French Inspired Badges
Navy with White Polka Dots Coin Purse
Biscuit – “La Vie Est Belle”
Pair of Pink and Navy Blue Eiffel Tower Socks
Decoration – Sass and Belle White and Gold Polka Dot Frame
Bubble T Lemongrass and Green Tea Flavoured Macaroon Shaped Lip Balm
A4 Print white with navy writing “à la belle étoile”

Here is a selection of my photographs of this month’s box, I hope you enjoy seeing the items up close and if you have any questions about any of them please leave me a comment at the end of the post, I will do my best to find you an answer.

My Favourites

My favourite pieces in this box have to be the Coin Purse, the Socks, the Photo Frame and the Badges. I love anything that has a French theme, so this entire box is right up my street.

I really liked that we had new items this month because I don’t recall having a coin purse in my time of receiving Treatbox. Something to wear like socks are always a lovely bonus. I would personally rather have a nice item like the photo frame than two more perishable items for example.

My Overall Opinion

What I loved this month, was both the theme and the items. In fact there isn’t an item that I don’t like! The overall quality is good and I had already planned to use two of the products before I had even finished photographing them individually.

Thanks for reading this post everyone! If you manage to watch my video you will notice it’s a little different and a lot shorter due to my impending arrival.

Although I have really enjoyed the Reveals of the months and years that I have been subscribed, my baby is coming very soon and I won’t be able to put in the time and effort I would usually do with the boxes. I don’t want to miss out, and I also enjoy the treats for myself once a month that I receive. I’m currently deciding whether or not I will stay subscribed, if I do then it won’t be to do a full reveal by video, it will only be a photographic one.

So finally don’t forget that Severn Wishes website isn’t just about Treatbox! I write about every aspect of my life and review many a variety of things. So if you enjoy this reveal why not check out my other categories.

Thank you for your ongoing support for me and my blog, I hope you have a wonderful July! I know that mine will no doubt be a very busy one filled with new experiences as I become a mum! Exciting!

Argos Home House Shelf Review and How I Am Customising It For My Own Needs

Recently while browsing on the Argos App during a clearance sale I came across a set of shelves that I absolutely fell in love with. The triple wooden shelves were shaped like houses and hollow inside, sporting a backboard and sturdy sides. The colours weren’t to my taste but upon looking up the materials of the product I was satisfied that I could modify them to my tastes.

Reduced to clear from £44.99 to just £17.99 I got an absolute bargain! The shelves are triple white houses that you screw together to form a solid block. What I wanted to use them for was our baby nursery. The theme we had chosen was yellow and grey, gender neutral and colours that could be easily adapted over time. One of the back boards of this shelving set was grey with white stars, which was perfect! But I needed to customise the other two. Luckily as well the grey stars was the largest one, so all I needed was to alter the smaller two, and this is how I did it.

On Amazon a while ago I was searching for good quality crafting card and paper. I came across a brand called Dovecraft, and purchased several packets from them in various colours and sizes. I was lucky enough to get some beautiful Yellow and Grey ones, which were reasonably priced at the time too. I began to figure out how I was going to fix and cut these pieces to fit the triangle back boards of the shelving. Eventually I completed my designs and began working on it.

Here are some images of me working on the pieces. As you can see I used very strong double sided tape, cutting the card before hand for size. Then I made sure it was fully stuck down once I was finished by leaving the wood panel underneath some heavy books for forty eight hours before screwing to the shelf.

The finished shelving with the Argos design would usually look like this…

My finished and customised shelving however, looks like this…

Over All Opinion

I have loved how my shelf has turned out, I’m very happy with it and how I made it unique to our home. I would recommend items from Argos and always read the reviews on the website. The paper from DoveCraft is excellent too, and if you’re a keen craft person then I would highly recommend their products. They do a huge range of colours and also sizes of Paper and Card, so it’s definitely worth a look if you have been inspired by what I have done.
I plan to use the remainder of the card pieces as backgrounds for photo frames and for a scrapbook that I am making for our baby’s first year.

The Crafty Giraffe Christmas Tree Decorations Review

Just before Christmas I saw a post from a page that I follow on Facebook, they were advertising their Wooden Christmas Tree Decorations. These wooden shapes were based on your pets, and could be personalised with the pets name if you so wished.

I decided to purchase some Cat Decorations for myself and my family as gifts for Christmas 2017. Every year I buy one new decoration for our Christmas Tree. Having not done so yet, I thought these well made and personal gifts would be puurrrrfect! (I couldn’t resist please forgive me!).

Here’s the Crafty Giraffe advert that I saw that attracted me to buying these decorations.

I was very happy with the delivery time considering it was November when I ordered. And I purchased one Gift Box with them, to keep mine inside until the next Christmas too. The professionalism of The Crafty Giraffe was excellent, and I was also impressed with the quality of the wood used and the finish with the name engraving.

Here is a close up image of what I purchased. You can see the nice details on the eyes and the little scarf too.

Their page can be found here The Crafty Giraffe – Personalised Engraved Gifts, if you wanted to take a look to see if you like anything. They of course don’t just do Christmas Gifts, but engraved gifts of all kinds. Go and check them out, you won’t be disappointed!

My Overall Review Scores.

Appearance 5/5
Quality 5/5
Value for Money 5/5

Thank you very much for reading this review today, I realise I’m talking about Christmas Decorations and it’s now of course over with for another 11 months! But do remember this company specialise in so many different types of gifts, it is worth checking them out. Or bear them in mind for the Autumn if you want Decorations like these later this year for your own tree. They did a variety of dog breeds as well as cats too.

Have a wonderful first week of January, and Happy New Year!

December 2017 Treatbox Reveal

Hello and Welcome to the December 2017 Treatbox Reveal with Sabrina of Severn Wishes.

We all know this box will be a Christmas one! So Happy December Treatbox!

As I open the box and find the Christmas Red Tissue Paper I cannot help but wonder what festivities lie beneath.

The sticker with a tiny house on it, reads “Merry Christmas”…

As I open up the calendar print page up I see several lovely items I know I will enjoy using and the theme of Christmas is throughout.

Here are all of the items available in the December Treatbox – Christmas Of Course!

Here is the full list of items available this month, and remember there will be slight variations sometimes in the types and the colours, so not every box is the same…

✩ There are 10 items in this particular Treatbox. These take the forms of 2 recipes, 1 calendar, 1 festive decoration, 2 edible and 3 wearable, as well as 1 voucher.

Calendar Print for December 2017 – Merry Christmas
Cadbury Hot Chocolate and Marshmallows
A4 Prints – “Mulled Wine Recipe” and “Mince Pies Recipe”
Necklace – Rose Gold Heart “Merry Christmas”
Festive Flag “Merry Christmas”
Packet of 20 Paper Straws
Single Christmas Candy Cane
Socks with a Bow
Mittens – Knitted Hand Warmers
20% Voucher for Jewellerybox.co.uk

Here is a selection of my photographs of this month’s box, I hope you enjoy seeing the items up close and if you have any questions about them then please leave a comment.

✩ My Favourites ✩

My favourite items from this month’s box are necklace, socks and the festive flag. The hot chocolate was a nice touch as were the mittens. At least the hand mittens can be reused as well. The necklace is a very nice touch because Rose Gold is in right now, and a heart is universal, I will certainly be using mine.

The reason I like these items is because I know I will be getting use out of them. I am a person who feels the cold, so comfy socks for cold nights and hand warmers for winter days out are right up my street.

✩ My Overall Opinion ✩

There are some nice items inside the Christmas box, I was of course expecting at least one decoration and one edible piece, but to have several wears and two edible is nice. Although just one candy cane was slightly disappointing, I would have liked to have seen more than one so as to hang them on the tree… Maybe I’m being picky?!

We have two recipes in the box, unfortunately I don’t drink, and I don’t like Mince Pies, so I will be keeping these two in my Recipe Box until someone one day asks if I have a recipe for either. Because sadly I won’t get any use either of them. I know my opinion will no doubt be vastly different to the majority of others who will probably love these recipes, but I’m just being my usual honest self.

We didn’t long ago get some Paper Straws, and I haven’t even used those as yet (I don’t host very often) and so now I have a great number of them ready and waiting. I would hope there will be no Straws in any near future boxes…

Review of a Gift Purchase from Paper Lace & Love

I was recently asked to become a godparent, and not only was I honoured to do so, but I then wanted my godson to have something special to keep and remember the day forever by. I have been waiting to share this post with you all but I wanted all of the family to see the present I gave, before I shared it on my blog. Now that I am able to I’m going to show you the gift that I commissioned and was so pleased with!

After searching the internet and the pages of social media, I decided to go with a company who could fulfill my wishes to personalise a design to be in keeping with the day. I knew the sort of gift that I wanted made, but I had to find someone who would do a design that would fit my purpose.

This wonderful company is run by Caitlin and is called Paper Lace & Love. Specalising in Handmade Papercuts, that are then framed and personalised by her for your own unique circumstances.

I wanted a Christening gift to be specifically made with both my godson’s name and the date he was Christened on it. I was so impressed with the level of detail and also the professionalism of Caitlin for making the changes I requested with no questions or problems. I was more than happy to pay the extra for the alternatives and was very pleased with the final design.

Paper Lace and Love
The parcel arrived on the day it was meant to, and the packaging was both professional and appropriate for keeping the item intact. Wrapped up in bubble wrap and tissue paper, the final look of the frame was excellent.

Here is the gift, professionally framed and about to be re-wrapped by myself to become the present. I chose a blue background, blue for a boy, but Paper Lace & Love stock a variety of styles and colours you can choose from. Caitlin is more than happy to find things for people to make it special and unique to their situations.

Paper Lace and Love One
As you can see in the next image, the level of detail is incredible, and I am in awe of Caitlin’s talent for paper cutting. She must have a high level of patience and a great degree of creativity to make such beautiful pieces.

Paper Lace and Love Two
My chosen gift was well received and will hopefully be loved by all as my little godson Lewis grows up. A wonderful and creative way of remembering a special day for a very special boy.

I cannot thank Caitlin enough for fitting me into a busy schedule, sending my gift to me within plenty of time, and for making the commission fit my needs exactly. I recommend her business highly, and would purchase from her again in the future if I ever need gifts of this sort.

I really hope you have enjoyed my review, and I will leave some links at the bottom of this post for those who wish to look at the other paper cuts available for purchase by Paper Lace & Love.

Paper Lace and Love Three
Thank you for reading this review today.
