January 2017 Treatbox Reveal

Happy New Year Severn Wishes readers!
Hello and Welcome to the unboxing and reveal of the January 2017 Treatbox!

I had eagerly been awaiting this box, and I wanted it to be my first blog post of this year, however it didn’t arrive until January 6th, so I was already behind on my weekly posting! Anyway, hopefully you’ll enjoy this review, even if you’ve seen others photo’s already.

Once again, for those who prefer to watch than to read, I have recorded the initial unboxing and you can head over to my YouTube channel to watch that if you wish https://youtu.be/luHIV9l3w0Y

So I had high expectations for this box, to cure the January blues and to start off the new year in a happy and positive way. I was most definitely impressed when I opened up the box!

Inside the light sky blue tissue paper I found a card which read “You Got This” which is a well used phrase in my family. I love what it represents, it’s positive and inspiring, and the January calendar staring up at me was also a welcomed item.

Underneath the ‘Chapter One’ sticker I could see a wonder of flower print and polka dots…

Here are a selection of images showing the items in more detail.

Here is the full list of items you will find in the January treatbox. Of course there are often variations of colours, so I will note what kinds of items I received, other boxes will have contained slightly different types. I love how many of the items are British made again this month, it makes me feel like I am supporting small companies.

“Don’t Count the Days, Make the Days Count” Quote Card
‘The Very Nature’ Fragrance Sachet (Frangipani Flower, Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Sweet Vanilla and Musk)
“This is your year! 2017” Book / Planner / Scrapbook
January Calendar Card
Bluebird Teabag (Gingerbread Chai)
2017 Diary (in Silver)
Set of 8 Teardrop Metallic Paperclips and Bookmark
“You Got This” Pencil (in White)
Polka Dot Notebook (Lined)
Pot of Nivea Cream (50ml)

My favourite items in this months box are… everything! There isn’t an item that I don’t like! I’m not sure if I will like the flavour of tea that I’ve been given, but other than that I cannot wait to use the books and various 2017 related pieces from this months box. The only thing to do now is to make a start on using them!

In my personal opinion this has been one of the best treat boxes so far, and I’ve had almost a year of them now. I am most looking forward to turning the plank paged book into a scrapbook for the year. I will also love using the diary, I still cannot get around to putting every single thing into my phone, so it’s very handy for me.

If you would like to order a TreatBox for yourself or for a gift for someone then you can find Treatbox subscriptions and build a box at their website https://treatboxuk.com/

If you aren’t sure on whether to try a TreatBox for yourself or not I would say order a one off box, and then if you’re happy with it you can always subscribe afterwards. Check out my previous posts on the Treat Boxes I have received so far, in this unique category of my website called ‘Treatbox’ which is especially for these box reviews and reveals http://severnwishes.co.uk/category/treatbox/

Thanks for reading my reveal post, I hope you’ve enjoyed this reveal. Have a great January! And remember, You Got This!

This box has been very well thought out, with a little bit of everything inside. I like that we have something to ‘drink’ and something to ‘eat’. We have the lights to look at and enjoy visually and of course we have the stickers that can be used to give other people joy, by adding them into cards and on to presents.

We also have the tree decoration which can be hung anywhere not just on the Christmas tree. A lovely pair of festive socks to wear. And finally we have the calendar so we can count down the days to Christmas!

tbdec13resswMy favourite items in this months box are the fairy lights (you can never have enough), the chocolates and the socks (it wouldn’t be Christmas without new socks and especially ones with festive faces!).

November Treat Box Reveal

tb-nov-01-swHappy November everyone!

It’s time to reveal the contents of the November Treatbox!

Filled with impressive feel good pieces this box holds an array of trinkets and items to adore, all of which have a theme of either stars or sparkle.

tb-nov-02-sw tb-nov-03-sw

With dark navy blue paper and a ‘Shine Bright Like A Diamond’ quote card, the November Treatbox contained promise of sparkles and happiness. There was a sweet smell emanating from inside my box as I peeled away the sticker that read ‘Spread The Sparkle’.

tb-nov-04-res-swI could see the gold sparkling stars and smell the sweet scent of caramel as I opened up the November box. I instantly clock the chocolate delights and know they will be enjoyed very soon. I was intrigued by the other contents and couldn’t wait to open it all up and photograph the items individually.

‘Shine Bright Like A Diamond’ Quote Card
Gold Stars Banner
‘Reach For The Stars’ Bag
November Calendar Card
Star Struck Constellation Compact Mirror
Star Straws
White Chocolate Stars
Simple Candle Co. Caramel Star Wax Melts

My favourite items in this months box are the Compact Mirror, the Wax Melts and the ‘Reach for the Stars’ bag. The lovely smelling wax melts seem like they will be a joy to use. The details on the box of the compact mirror are stunning, it’s a beautiful keepsake and a useful item, but more than that it’s so unique looking. And the bag is of course very handy to have and is a happy memento.

October Treat Box Reveal

Happy 1st of October to each and every one of you! A new month means a new treatbox!

hello-autumn

It’s treatbox delivery day today and I am lucky to have received my box on the 1st of the month this time around, so you get my review even earlier, hurrah!

The nights are getting darker and colder, and I’m hoping there might be some tempting Autumnal related treats inside this box. The label reads handle with care so I am presuming there will be something breakable inside this time.

treatboxoctober1sw‘October Treatbox’ is designed to make you happy and make you smile this month. The French quote card in this box made me smile broadly because it is very appropriate for my month of October because I will be taking a trip to Paris in a few weeks time. It reads ‘beauty has no age’ when translated and is something I completely agree with. (Thank you Treatbox for testing my French language skills before my trip!)

treatboxoctober3-swSo what else are we expecting? The nights are drawing in and getting colder, so we need comfort and happy items, let us see what Zoe has planned for us. So let us open the box and reveal October’s contents…

treatboxoctober4-swtreatboxoctober6-swtreatboxoctober7-swtreatboxoctober5-swI have recorded the initial unboxing of the treatbox this month as well, and details of it will be available at the end of this post.

I’m very excited (as usual) to show you all what’s included so let’s get to the contents list and my more detailed photographs of Octobers box.

treatboxoctober2-swtreatboxoctober8-sw

The contents this month include, the French Quote card ‘La Beaute N’a Pas D’age’ translated to ‘Beauty has no age’, a Home Sweet Home plaque, A pretty Silver Bracelet by Lisa Angel, a pretty flower design Note Pad which reads ‘To Do List’, a Fabric Organiser with rope so you can hang it anywhere you please, October Calendar card, a ‘Don’t Forget’ Magnet, and a Bonny Marshmallow Melt (mine was Madagascan Vanilla).

treatboxoctober10-swtreatboxoctober11-swtreatboxoctoberbracelet3-sw home-sweet-home-sw

to-do-list-swMy favourite items in this months box are the Lisa Angel Heart Tassle Bracelet, the Notepad, the French Quote card and the Magnet, all these items are well made or useful and/or pretty. I especially like the uniqueness of the bracelet and the note pad is perfect for someone like myself who lives by lists and organising.

Here is the bracelet on my wrist, I love that it’s so easily adjustable, it’s simple and elegant, one of the nicest items in all the months that I have had treatbox so far.

Secret Scent Box from August Unboxing, Reveal and Review

On today’s blog post I am doing a first, which is the unboxing of the August Secret Scent Box. I’ve been looking forward to receiving this and to share it with you all. Thank you to Secret Scent Box for this wonderful collaboration.

Secret Scent Box 02 SW

I’ve read a lot about this new subscription box which came into the market in the Spring of 2016. Secret Scent Box works by sending a box to you once a month with three designer and branded fragrances inside. The bottle sizes are all 3ml which allow for up to 30 days of perfume between the three you receive, that is roughly four spritz a day.

Scent Box comes in perfumes ‘For Her’ and colognes ‘For Him’ and you’re guaranteed a new fragrance and designer brands to be included. Priding themselves on supplying a range of different scents so that you experience a range of types, Secret Scent Box are fast becoming a popular choice for bloggers and subscription box lovers alike.

Secret Scent Box 01 SW

I’ve been lucky enough to work with Secret Scent Box this month to bring you the contents of their August box. Not only have I photographed the subscription but there will also be a link to my vlog of this reveal too, where I give my opinion and show you the sizes of the perfumes.

There are many great things about this box, one of which is the design which features enough perfume for the month in which you receive it. Another fabulous aspect is the size of the bottles used as they are perfect for your handbag. The bottles are individually labelled and are easy to read and distinguish. Something even better is that the box fits through your letterbox so there will be no trips to collect any missed post.

Obviously a risk that you take when ordering any kind of secret subscription box is that you are unaware of the products and they might not all be what you will like. However these little perfumes would make great stocking fillers considering we are in the second half of the year fast approaching Christmas. As with everything it would be rare that you would like all of the contents, however I would wear all of the perfumes I received in this August Secret Scent Box, so luckily I am happy about that.

Secret Scent Box is all about the mystery of getting perfumes you may not have tried before. Most of us only purchase a larger scent bottle if we’ve tried it before. As we all know branded perfume isn’t cheap and most of us rely on occasions to receive a new product. By subscribing to Scent Box you can try designer fragrances for a fraction of the cost of a large bottle, and in sizes that are far more convenient to use and carry with you.

It’s an exciting concept to get something new and the way that it’s all presented in the box is professional. The fragrances are 100% authentic and the brands that can be included range from DKNY, Armani and Dior, to Paco Rabanne, Joop and Prada (to name but a few).

So what were the fragrances inside the August box? I think that you’re desperate to know, so here is the reveal for the August Scent Box.

Secret Scent Box 03 SW

Armani – Diamonds
Jimmy Choo – Illicit Flower
Vera Wang – Princess

Secret Scent Box 04 SW

The little cards contained inside are such a fabulous touch to this subscription box. It’s interesting to know what has gone into making a scent. Have you ever looked into what notes make your favourite perfumes? If you compare them I guarantee that some of the aspects will be the same, such as one of the top notes or one of the bass notes. This is a good way of working out if you’re going to like the fragrance or not even before you spray it. Something else to consider as well is spraying the perfume on both your clothing and your skin, because it often smells different between the two. Levels in your skin can effect the smell of the fragrance so it’s always worth doing both before making a decision of if you will wear it.

Secret Scent Box 06 SW

The level of detail and professionalism that Secret Scent Box undertake each month is excellent, and I can recommend this subscription if you’re into perfumes, or if you would like to try something new. You are able to cancel your subscription at any time, and payment is taken on the same date every month if you do wish to join. Each month the new box will arrive during the first few days of the month, and then you can enjoy your new fragrances for a month before the next box arrives through your door. Subscription is currently £15 a month and this includes your delivery.

August Treat Box Reveal

DSC07502ProcResSWHello everyone, if you’re reading this then you’re here to find out what was inside the amazing Treatbox for August 2016! Yes it’s that time of the month again where the postman knocks on the door and hands me the post that I always look forward to getting. The box that always seems to help me start a new month off in the right way.

DSC07532ProcResDSC07521ProcResSWAs some of you will know I love to photograph these fabulous boxes in great detail and outline every inch of its contents. This months wonderful theme is ‘Dream Big’ which has aspects of Magic, Dreams, Unicorns, Rainbows and Love (among other things). I was really happy with all of the items inside this months box, check out my photographs and descriptions below for this Treatbox for August.

DSC07637ProcResSW

Inside the August Treatbox you will find some wonderful items including Heart Bathbombs, A Stone Coaster (mine read ‘Do What You Love Every Day’), A bag of Rainbow Drop sweets, A set of white battery powered Fairy Lights (that are so bright and gorgeous), A ‘Follow Your Dreams’ inspirational quote card, A beautiful Rainbow iron-on patch, 3 small cards which were 1. Dare to Dream Big, 2. Who Runs the World? Girls, 3. Because I blog so much if I don’t have my phone to hand I often write myself notes, these are the perfect size for slipping into a handbag or travel bag too. I love the lights because for battery ones they are super bright, see my image below for just how amazing they look when placed into a dark corner. And finally I adore the inspirational quote card, I am a huge believer in seizing the day, and following your dreams, even if it takes you a while to achieve them, don’t give up and believe in yourself, this beautiful card is something to read and remind you of that.

NotebooksFollowYourDreams

This is what I have decided to do with my fairy lights. I have this gorgeous quote jar that I bought in the Spring earlier on this year but hadn’t done anything with yet. The lights are so bright, they look fabulous inside it in the evening light.

No7 Raffle Prize Mystery Bag Reveal

No7oneNo7 Mystery Prize Gift Bag

I was very lucky recently to receive this No7 gift bag. My father won this as a raffle prize at his local store but it was designed to be won by a woman, I was a very lucky daughter to get given it, and I was told it was filled with all kinds of mystery goodies from Boots.

No7fourWhen I opened the tape on the beautiful purple bag and looked inside, I saw a selection of items inside including samples, No7 items and what looked like some full sized products too. I decided to photograph all of the items together before testing or using any of them, so the next image depicts a flat lay of the things inside the prize. This is the reveal of what was contained in this prize.

No7threeItem 1. Estee Lauder – New Dimension Serum Sample
Item 2. No7 Dramatic Lift Mascara – Handbag Size
Item 3. Lancome – La Vie Est Belle – Perfume Sample
Item 4. Benefit – It’s Potent – Brightening Eye Cream Sample
Item 5. Paco Rabanne – Olympea – Perfume Sample
Item 6. No7 Stay Perfect – Duo Nail Colour in Pink and Gold (2x4ml)
Item 7. Ted BakerBody Lotion (50ml)
Item 8. No7 Single Eye Shadow – Handbag Size
Item 9. Boots Botanics Ionic Clay Mask (100g)
Item 10. Clarins – Anti Pollution – Cleansing Cream (5ml)
Item 11. Elizabeth Arden – Original Cream – Eight Hour Cream – Sample

No7twoI’m looking forward to trying these products and the samples, if I’m impressed with anything I will probably write a blog post about that specific item. Although most of what was included seem to have one time uses unfortunately.

Review of this Prize
I found it rather interesting how many samples were included in this winners bag. I of course expected there to have been more handbag sized products than full sized, however for a prize, it should be worth the ticket price at least.
A lot of places still give you samples if you ask for them, so you could potentially remove 5 or 6 of the prizes in this bag, which only leaves you with 6 or 5 products, some which are still not full sized anyway. The question is if the prize is worth the prize money, because it felt like a lot was included until you look at it all.
In my eyes if companies are going to provide prizes which have samples inside, they need to put a lot more in the bag than just a few and especially if they are only at 5ml or less.
A lot of what has been won here will be single use items. If I had arranged such a prize, I think it would’ve been more worthwhile to supply 5 full sized items and handbag friendly products, than to put two or three proper sized pieces
in a bag filled with samples to make it seem as though the recipient was getting a lot more. It is needless to say a little disappointing and a bit misleading (considering the size of the bag too!)
Saying this I am not ungrateful in any way, because I still have the opportunity to try some products I wouldn’t have purchased full sized versions of.

I hope you have found this reveal interesting, and I will update with future posts if any products stand out to me enough to have their own review.

July Treat Box Reveal

HandleWithCareI’ve been very lucky this month because I have another Treatbox reveal for you all! I am happy to share this months theme with you first of all which is a Tropical theme.

Aloha2 Treatbox05

So where to begin! Well I will start with saying how I laughed out loud when I opened the box, the sticker read ‘Aloha’ and inside the box was a bright pink paper and an interesting smell like coconut. There was a card that read ‘Be A Flamingo In A Flock Of Pigeons’ which I’m sure plenty of us can relate to. After my chuckle was over I read the description card and was surprised to read that TreatBox had now been going a year, so congrats to Zoe and her wonderful business!

JulyTreatboxAs I carefully opened up the tissue paper I noticed the smell getting stronger and I could see something made of material, what I guessed was the party bag with spots on and in the corner was something covered in pineapples!

Treatbox for July SWInside this months box you will find some wonderful items including the little party bag mentioned in the description in celebration of a year of TreatBoxes, which had bubbles, confetti and sweets inside it (cute!), a ‘Hooray’ flag (which is great for any celebrations), a badge that has melons on it, a lovely makeup bag which has the slogan ‘and so the Adventure begins darling’, a heart and arrows sign which reads ‘Go Your Own Way’, a bracelet from Wish Upon A String which is a Pineapple, an inspirational card that says ‘Oh The Places You’ll Go’, and a candle which is Pina Colada scented from Simple Candle Co. (it made the whole box smell lovely).

BraceletPartyBagThe PlacesBadge

Did anyone else start singing or humming the Pina Colada song while going through their treats? Because I did! You know the one? “I like Pina Colada’s and getting caught in the rain!” Mainly I think was because the smell was so nice throughout the whole box because of the candle, it reminded me of the smell of the drink.

CandleMakeupBagSignMy favourite item in this months box has to be the quote bag. I really like the delicate font on the front. I’m a huge fan of storage items no matter what the material, and I’m positive that this little bag will go away with me on holidays and long weekends. It’s a versatile size and I love that it can fit a lot of different items in, because it isn’t designed to be makeup specific for example, but I would most likely use it for that, or perhaps weekend accessories such as jewellery and things of that nature.

I really love how much thought goes into these Treat Boxes. It must be difficult to come up with such great themes and gather the various items needed for each individual box. I am also very fond of all the inspirational quotes too.

Treatbox in July V2 SWI have thoroughly enjoyed all four of my TreatBox experiences. Although I haven’t loved every item in every box, the great thing about these wonderful items is that the gifts that you receive that are unwanted, can become gifts for others who will love them. I know I won’t be purchasing too many little presents on the run up to this years festivities because I am saving a few of my TreatBox items to give away.

If you aren’t sure on whether to try a TreatBox for yourself or not I would say order a one off box, and then if you’re happy with it you can always subscribe afterwards. Check out my previous posts on the Treat Boxes I have received so far, in the unique category off my homepage called ‘Treatbox’ which is just for these reviews and reveals.

Treatbox in July SWI hope you have enjoyed this reveal and review of the July Treatbox, who knows, we may have more of them in the future. If you do decide to subscribe then please leave me a comment, I would love to know what you think of TreatBox.

June Treat Box Reveal

JuneTreatBox1June has arrived with some sunshine and a treat box which is filled with baking theme items! I have to admit that I love to bake even though I’m not very good at it, I have perfected brownies but with cake I am still learning! The items in this box will no doubt be of great use to me over the summer months as I continue cooking and making the perfect recipe.

JuneTreatBox2JuneTreatBox4JuneTreatBox3So it’s time for the big reveal! I have chosen to photograph the products in more detail this month so you can really see the quality of things you are getting from the treat box.

What can we find in June’s box, of course there is a card, this months reads ‘You’ve Gotta Risk It To Get The Biscuit’ which is a phrase I have used plenty of times in my life already, and I had a little chuckle at it as I opened the box up. Inside the first thing I noticed was a wonderful baking spatula of fabulous quality. There are some pegs (mine were cupcakes) which can be used for photos or recipes or decoration. Inside the treat box you’ll also find a notebook designed for anything cookery related you’d like to make notes on. Also there is a delicious biscuit (I had to stop myself eating mine because I wanted to make sure I photographed it) and mine had such a cute face on it too! In this months treat box there is a packet of chalkboard stickers – something I’ve never seen before – fantastic for people who haven’t got a kitchen big enough for an actual board! You will also find a pencil – mine was pink and read ‘Star Baker’ which is just lovely especially if you enjoy watching bake off! There will also be a teabag and mine happened to be popcorn flavour green tea which is something I drink anyway so I’m intrigued to try this flavour. And finally you have some biscuit nail files which are cute and always handy for a ladies handbag.

So what has been my favourite item from this months box. I couldn’t choose between the spatula and the notebook. Both are so useful and perfect for myself and my daily life. I know that both will be used and enjoyed.
